The principal of Kisser Secondary School in Settat province was hospitalized Saturday after being allegedly assaulted by a student inside the school, according to informed Hespress AR sources.

The student reportedly entered the school outside his scheduled class hours. After the principal asked him to leave the school grounds and comply with the institution’s rules, the two became involved in a heated exchange that escalated into an alleged physical assault.

The principal was taken to an emergency department in Settat, where he received medical examinations and treatment. He remained under medical care as of Saturday, according to the sources.

Local education authorities sent two representatives to check on the principal’s condition. The principal is expected to obtain a medical certificate stating the period of incapacity for work for use in the legal proceedings.

Gendarmerie officers at Kisser intervened and arrested the student. He was placed in custody while authorities investigate the alleged assault and his entry into the school outside his scheduled hours.

A local union representing school administrators affiliated with the Democratic Confederation of Labor condemned the incident, saying repeated attacks against education staff have become a growing concern and that the safety and dignity of teachers and school administrators must be protected.
