Morocco’s national weather service is forecasting hot weather on Tuesday and Wednesday, along with strong thunderstorms, possible hail and strong wind gusts in several parts of the country on Tuesday.
The General Directorate of Meteorology issued an orange-level alert warning of temperatures ranging from 38 C to 42 C on Tuesday and Wednesday in several provinces.
The affected areas include Chtouka-Ait Baha, Inezgane-Ait Melloul, Agadir Ida-Outanane, Taroudant, Tarfaya and Tan-Tan.
The weather service also forecast strong thunderstorms producing between 20 and 25 millimeters of rainfall, with possible hail and strong wind gusts, on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The storms are expected to affect the provinces of Boujdour, Aousserd and Oued Eddahab.
