Moroccan international Azzedine Ounahi secured a precious 2-0 victory for Panathinaikos against Kifisia on Wednesday at the Leoforos Stadium in Athens, matching the 3rd matchday of the Greek Cup group stage.

Thanks to Ounahi’s brace, Panathinaikos remains undefeated in the Cup, a win that brings them to a 2-2 aggregate balance and ties them with Olympiacos at the top of the standings.

The attacking midfielder converted a penalty in the 76th minute before adding a second magnificent goal in the 89th with a masterclass strike from the edge of the penalty box, leaving the keeper with no chance.

The Greens—who handed Moroccan left-back Anass Salah-Eddine his club debut—secured their sixth victory in as many domestic fixtures since the start of the season.

While the first half lacked spark with very few clear chances at either end, the match opened up after the break. In the 74th minute, Panathinaikos center-forward Andreas Tetteh was brought down inside Kifisia’s box, prompting the referee to point to the spot. Ounahi stepped up and converted the penalty without flinching to put his side ahead.

Just before the final whistle, the raw Moroccan talent carried the ball forward several meters before curling a strike straight into the top corner past Alexandros Anagnostopoulos, sealing the 2-0 final score to loud cheers from the home supporters in their historic arena.

In stoppage time, Panathinaikos goalkeeper Iñaki Peña pulled off a brilliant save on a powerful strike from Dimitris Theodoridis, keeping a clean sheet for the second consecutive match.
