Strong thunderstorms and hail forecast across northern and mountain regions

Morocco’s General Directorate of Meteorology forecast locally strong thunderstorms, possible hail and gusty winds across the High and Middle Atlas, Rif and northern Oriental region on Wednesday.

Relatively hot to hot conditions will persist in the northern Oriental region, southeast and southern Saharan provinces. Low clouds and patches of fog are expected along the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts.

Fairly strong winds may affect the Atlas, Oriental region, southeast and Saharan provinces, potentially lifting dust and reducing visibility locally.

Minimum temperatures will range from 28°C to 32°C in the Moulouya Valley, southeast and far south, compared with 15°C to 19°C in the Atlas highlands and coastal areas. Lows elsewhere will range between 20°C and 25°C.

Daytime temperatures are expected to fall across northern Morocco but rise in the Saharan provinces. Seas will be mostly calm to slight in the Mediterranean and Strait, becoming rougher along southern coasts.
