Moroccan authorities have opened an investigation after the body of a man in his fifties was discovered in an advanced state of decomposition in a rural area of Benslimane, in the Casablanca-Settat region.
According to informed Hespress AR sources, the discovery was made on Sunday when the driver of a harvesting machine was working in an agricultural field in the commune of Ahlaf. The operator reportedly noticed what appeared to be a body lying in the field and immediately stopped work to alert his assistants.
After approaching the site, the workers confirmed that the remains belonged to a man whose body had reached an advanced stage of decomposition. Local authorities were promptly notified of the incident.
Members of the Royal Gendarmerie, local administrative officials and civil protection personnel arrived at the scene to conduct an initial examination.
Preliminary findings indicated that the deceased was a man in his fifties who had been reported missing by his family nearly two months ago.
Following notification of the victim’s relatives, the competent public prosecutor ordered that the body be transferred to the forensic medicine department in Casablanca for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities seek to establish the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
