Abdellatif Hammouchi, Morocco’s director general of national security and territorial surveillance, carried out an inspection visit Sunday to the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat to review security and safety measures ahead of the second leg of the CAF Champions League final between AS FAR and Mamelodi Sundowns.
During the visit, Hammouchi reviewed the various security protocols adopted by Rabat police authorities for the match, including traffic management plans designed to ensure smooth movement to and from the stadium, as well as broader safety measures aimed at guaranteeing secure conditions for the continental fixture.

The prefect of police in Rabat provided detailed briefings on the human, logistical and operational resources mobilized for the event. More than 6,000 police officers from multiple specialized units have reportedly been deployed, including crowd-control teams, traffic police, mounted units, canine squads and explosives detection teams.
Officials also presented Morocco’s updated digital surveillance system for sports venues, which includes the stadium’s internal camera network, drone monitoring systems operated by national police services and body cameras worn by officers.
The inspection forms part of broader preparations undertaken by Moroccan security services to secure major continental and international sporting events hosted by the kingdom.

Authorities said the visit also served as an opportunity to assess and evaluate existing security and safety protocols ahead of future international competitions.
Morocco’s national police service has, in recent years, implemented a comprehensive strategy to strengthen security arrangements surrounding upcoming sporting events, including the modernization of sports security units and the expansion of international security cooperation programs with participating countries.
