Rabat moves Morocco fan zone to Moulay Abdellah after ticket rush

Rabat’s World Cup fan zone will move from Prince Moulay El Hassan Stadium to Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium for Morocco’s quarterfinal against France, after tickets for the previous screening sold out rapidly.

A source told Hespress that organizers chose Prince Moulay Abdellah because of its larger capacity, following demand that exceeded the space available at Moulay El Hassan Stadium during Morocco’s last match. The move is intended to allow more supporters to watch the Atlas Lions in a collective setting as public interest grows with Morocco’s run at the 2026 World Cup.

Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium will host Rabat’s only official fan zone for Morocco matches. Games will be shown live on giant screens, with services and technical arrangements designed to handle a larger crowd and recreate a stadium-style atmosphere.

The quarterfinal screening will also include live entertainment before kickoff. Moroccan rappers ElGrandeToto and Stormy are scheduled to perform, alongside singer Rym Fikri, in a programme aimed at turning the event into both a football gathering and a public concert.

The relocation follows the success of the previous fan-zone event, where all tickets were taken quickly and turnout exceeded expectations. Organizers are now moving to a bigger venue to absorb the growing demand from supporters seeking to follow Morocco’s knockout-stage campaign together.

Morocco face France on Thursday in a World Cup quarterfinal rematch of the 2022 semifinal, as the Atlas Lions look to extend their historic campaign.
