Six people were killed in a series of shootings late Friday across three locations in Clay County, US media outlets reported Saturday.
Sheriff Eddie Scott confirmed the death toll early Saturday morning, saying the shootings occurred at separate sites within a short time span. Investigators said the first shooting was reported on David Hill Road, where three people were found dead.
A second shooting took place on Blake Road, resulting in one fatality. The third incident occurred on Siloam-Griffith Road, where two additional people were killed, investigators said.
Authorities arrested a suspect, identified as Daricka Moore, 24, who was booked into the Clay County Jail shortly after 3 a.m. Moore is charged with first-degree murder, according to the sheriff’s office.
Officials have not released the identities of the victims, pending notification of next of kin. The circumstances surrounding the shootings and whether the victims were connected were not immediately clear.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities said additional charges could be filed as more information becomes available.
