The Confederation of African Football has appointed Malian international referee Boubou Traoré to officiate Sunday’s Africa Cup of Nations last 16 match between Morocco and Tanzania at Rabat’s Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex.
Traoré will be in charge on the field for the knockout fixture, scheduled for January 4, as the tournament enters its decisive phase. Senegalese referee Issa Sy will oversee video assistant referee duties.
Morocco head into the match as group A winners with seven points, following victories over Comoros and Zambia and a draw against Mali, reinforcing their status as tournament favorites on home soil.
Tanzania arrive riding momentum after making history by reaching the knockout stage for the first time. The Taifa Stars qualified as one of the best third placed teams, finishing with two points after draws against Uganda and Tunisia.
