Local authorities in the Fez prefecture have reported a preliminary casualty count of 19 people killed and 16 injured with varying degrees of severity after the collapse of two adjacent, four-story residential buildings last night (Tuesday – Wednesday, December 9th-10th).
The buildings were home to eight families in the Al Massira urban area of Fez (Al Mustaqbal neighborhood).
According to information obtained by Hespress AR, local and security authorities, along with Civil Protection services, immediately rushed to the scene upon notification to begin search and rescue operations.
