A five-story residential building collapse in the Moroccan city of Fez has left 14 people dead and six others injured, according to updated figures released Thursday by local authorities and medical Hespress AR sources.
The building, located in the Ain Naqbi neighborhood in the Jnan El Ward district, collapsed during the early hours of Thursday morning, triggering a large-scale emergency response.
A Hespress AR medical source told local media that the regional Ghassani Hospital in Fez received 15 victims, including both fatalities and injured residents. The Hassan II University Hospital also admitted five injured people, whose conditions were described as serious.

Civil protection teams later halted search and rescue operations after confirming that no additional victims were trapped beneath the rubble, field sources said.
Local authorities evacuated neighboring residential buildings as a precautionary measure to protect residents from possible structural risks linked to the collapse.
The collapsed structure reportedly contained 11 apartments, eight of which were occupied at the time of the incident.
An investigation has been opened under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office to determine the causes and circumstances surrounding the collapse.
