Moroccan gendarmes in Taghazout, near Agadir, arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a British tourist after posing as a tour guide, local media reported Wednesday.
Authorities said the suspect lured the woman during her holiday by offering to take her on a horseback ride to a nearby natural site. Once away from public view, he allegedly raped her before fleeing.
The victim reported the assault, prompting an investigation that led to the man’s arrest. He was placed in custody under orders from the public prosecutor while investigators continue to gather evidence about the circumstances of the case.
