Police in Casablanca have opened an investigation after a video circulated on social media showing a foreign tourist claiming he was treated poorly by a taxi driver in the city.
Authorities said Friday that the tourist seen in the video had not filed an official complaint. However, police in the Ain Sebaa–Hay Mohammadi district were able to identify the taxi in question and detain its driver.
The driver is now under judicial investigation under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office, police said, as authorities work to determine the full circumstances and background of the incident.
