University dormitories across Morocco are finalizing student departures as the academic year draws to a close.
For undergraduate students, the official deadline for vacating dorms was June 30, while master’s and PhD students must leave by July 15, according to internal notices issued by facilities such as the Moulai Ismail residence in Rabat and the El Jadida university dorm.
Student dining services were suspended by late June, with operations set to resume by September or October, depending on the location. Dormitory closures are typically justified by maintenance needs and record updates ahead of the new academic year.
Many students face challenges securing alternative housing, especially those remaining in urban centers for internships. While some dorms accommodate students with resit exams, others require formal proof of academic obligations.
The transitional phase has prompted calls for more flexibility, particularly for students whose commitments extend into the summer.
