Commuters in Rabat and Salé will face higher tramway fares starting July 1, according to the operator Transdev. The fare hike includes single tickets, combined services, and all subscription packages.

The standard single-ride ticket will increase from 6 to 7 dirhams. The same applies to the electronic version via the Tram Mobile app. A new 14-dirham “ticket + parking” offer will also be introduced, allowing return trips with access to parking facilities at Madinat Al Irfane and Hay Karima stations.

The “Trambus” ticket, used mainly by Temara residents for tram and bus line 30 connections, will rise from 8 to 10 dirhams.

Monthly student subscriptions under “Irtiyah Talib” will increase to 160 dirhams, up from 150. Other subscription plans for the general public under “Irtiyah Tout Public” will also go up: monthly to 270 dirhams, quarterly to 750, semi-annual to 1,460, and annual to 2,700 dirhams.

Despite the fare increases, penalties remain unchanged. First-degree infractions such as riding without a valid ticket or using another person’s card will still incur a 50-dirham fine. More serious violations, like obstructing doors, will be fined at 150 dirhams.

Since 2011, the Rabat-Salé tram network has been managed by Transdev, operating two lines that link major areas including Hay Karima, Madinat Al Irfane, Moulay Abdellah Hospital, and Yacoub Al Mansour across both cities.
