Morocco’s Prime Minister and leader of the National Rally of Independents (RNI), Aziz Akhannouch, reaffirmed his government’s seriousness and cohesion, emphasizing that the ruling coalition is “genuinely working for the good of the country” and committed to “moving forward.” He was speaking during the third stop of the RNI’s nationwide outreach tour, “Path of Achievements,” held in Guelmim, the gateway to Morocco’s southern provinces.
Addressing a crowd of more than 2,500 attendees, Akhannouch stated that the achievements highlighted during the tour are not solely those of the RNI, but rather the result of coordinated efforts by the government and its majority coalition, in line with the directives of King Mohammed VI — particularly regarding the southern provinces’ development model.
“This is a government of integrity,” Akhannouch said, “and it listens to citizens and takes their feedback into account. We are determined to implement the projects that Moroccans are counting on, especially in the social, economic, and rural development sectors.”
Praise for Regional Leaders and Developmental Progress
Akhannouch praised Mbarka Bouaida, President of the Guelmim-Oued Noun region and regional coordinator of the party, for her contributions and dedication. He also paid tribute to the late Ali Bouaida and current MP Nadia Bouaida for their long-standing work within the party.
He underlined the strong presence of ministers and political bureau members at the event as a clear sign of the region’s importance and the party’s commitment to direct engagement with citizens.

Strategic Projects in the Southern Provinces
Akhannouch highlighted several major development projects in the region, including the Tiznit–Dakhla expressway and water desalination plants aimed at irrigating over 10,000 hectares of land.
He also announced that the Guelmim-Oued Noun region would be the first in Morocco to fully implement the “Pioneer Schools” model in all its provinces in the upcoming academic year, with ten new secondary schools soon to follow. In health, he revealed that starting in 2029, Guelmim’s medical school will graduate 100 doctors annually, most of them from the local area.
Support for National Unity and Regional Development
In her opening remarks, Mbarka Bouaida welcomed the party leaders and emphasized the region’s strategic partnerships with key government ministries, especially those related to agriculture and energy. She also highlighted the regional development contract with the central government, particularly its role in reducing spatial disparities and improving rural access.
Akhannouch concluded by assuring residents that the Guelmim-Oued Noun region is poised for a dynamic period of growth and transformation, thanks to the continued attention and support of King Mohammed VI.
