Morocco’s Finance Minister, Nadia Fettah, was awarded “Finance Minister of the Year” at the 2025 African Banker Awards held Wednesday in Abidjan, on the sidelines of the African Development Bank’s annual meetings.
Fettah was recognized for implementing prudent macroeconomic policies and launching reforms that foster an investment-friendly environment.
Other top honors included Patricia Ojangole of Uganda Development Bank as Banker of the Year, and the Central Bank of Nigeria’s governor as Central Bank Governor of the Year. Idrissa Nassa, CEO of Coris Bank International, received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
East and Southern Africa’s Trade and Development Bank (TDB) was named African Bank of the Year, while Kenya’s African Trade Insurance Agency won the Development Finance Institution award.
The awards, organized by African Banker magazine and IC Events, celebrate excellence in African banking and finance.
