Enactus Morocco launches program to accelerate green, circular economy transition in Morocco

Enactus Morocco launched on Monday the Green Forward program, a new initiative designed to strengthen the capabilities of business support organizations (SAEs) in Morocco, according to a press release.

The initiative aims to better assist micro, small, and medium-sized green enterprises (MSMEs) and support their essential role in the transition to a green and circular economy.

Funded by the European Union, Green Forward is implemented by the international NGO SPARK, which focuses on creating high-impact jobs for young people, including women and refugees, across seven countries in the Southern Neighbourhood, including Morocco, in partnership with Enactus Morocco.

The same source emphasized that business support organizations (SAEs) play a key role in guiding businesses toward more sustainable practices, but they face several challenges, including a lack of tailored resources, difficulty accessing green finance, and the need for better organization to provide more effective support.

The Green Forward program therefore “aims to strengthen their capacities by providing them with tools, resources, and a framework to better support MSMEs in their ecological transition, while ensuring coherence between local dynamics and public policies.”

The program is based on four strategic pillars, namely the capacity building for SAEs to enhance support for MSMEs in their green transition, and the development of practical tools and tailored training to facilitate sustainable practices and innovation.

It also includes the facilitation of synergies and exchanges through events that connect SAEs, businesses, and policymakers, as well as the development of strategic recommendations to integrate green and circular economy principles into public policies and encourage funding for sustainable solutions.
