The fifth edition of the “Hope Makers” initiative concluded on Sunday evening in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with a remarkable Moroccan achievement. Ahmed Zennoun, president of the “Voice of the Moon” association in Fez, secured first place in this prestigious event.
Zennoun, who has dedicated his work to supporting children with xeroderma pigmentosum in Morocco, was one of three finalists in this initiative, the largest of its kind in the Arab world.
He competed alongside Khadija El Qorti, founder of an association providing shelter for women battling cancer in Morocco, and Egyptian activist Samar Nadeem, who offers refuge to women in distress.

The event was held in the presence of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who personally honored the winners.
This initiative, which celebrates humanitarian efforts and supports civil society contributions, is recognized as the most significant of its kind in the Arab world.
While the title of “Hope Maker” for this edition was awarded to Ahmed Zennoun, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives foundation granted each of the three finalists one million UAE dirhams. This generous reward aims to encourage them to continue their humanitarian efforts and expand their impact.

The three finalists were selected from a pool of 26,000 applications submitted within just two months of the initiative’s launch. This overwhelming response highlights the strong commitment of Arab civil society to humanitarian causes and the widespread desire to be part of this esteemed recognition.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum congratulated the three finalists, urging them to persist in their mission of spreading hope and positively impacting various communities.

Launched in 2017, the “Hope Makers” initiative was established to honor and support individuals devoted to charitable work across the Arab world. This year’s recognition of Ahmed Zennoun, alongside Khadija El Qorti and Samar Nadeem, stands as a testament to their unwavering commitment to humanitarian service and the betterment of society.
