Morocco added the Bayraktar Akıncı drone to its defense arsenal, marking another step in its collaboration with Turkish defense company Baykar, Far-Maroc Forum said Monday.
This move comes just two years after the country acquired the Bayraktar TB2 drones, also from Turkish defense company Baykar.
One of the Akıncı’s biggest strengths is its stealth. Its low radar signature makes it incredibly difficult for enemy defense systems to detect, allowing it to operate undetected in hostile areas.
This stealth feature makes it ideal for reconnaissance missions, strategic target identification, and precision strikes.
The Akıncı also has a versatile payload capacity, capable of carrying a range of weapons, including long-range guided missiles and bombs. This gives it offensive capabilities similar to those of fighter jets like the F5.
The Akıncı, designed for high-precision missions, is packed with advanced features that make it a tool for surveillance, reconnaissance, and combat.
What sets the Akıncı apart is its dual artificial intelligence system, which allows for real-time data processing, sensor fusion, and situational awareness. This means the drone can analyze and respond to threats faster and more accurately than ever before.
With a flight time of up to 24 hours and a range of 6000 kilometers, the Akıncı is perfectly suited for monitoring and defending Morocco’s vast territories.
The drone is equipped with an AESA radar, a system that can detect and track multiple targets simultaneously.
This system makes it highly effective in identifying and neutralizing threats, even in challenging environments.
Morocco and Baykar have been working closely to strengthen military ties, including the establishment of a new industrial unit in Benslimane.
This facility will focus on assembling and manufacturing advanced drones tailored to the specific needs of the Royal Armed Forces.
This collaboration aims at building Morocco’s own defense capabilities. Through technology transfer, Morocco aims to produce drones domestically, ensuring its military is equipped with tools designed for its unique operational requirements.
