Gendarmes in El Jadida, arrested a man on Wednesday night on suspicion of killing his wife. The arrest occurred after the wife’s body was found in their home, showing signs of violence around her neck.
Local authorities in the Zaouiat Sais area alerted the gendarmes after discovering the woman’s body. An initial investigation found that she had likely been strangled by her husband, the main suspect in the case. It is believed that the motive for the killing was the wife’s refusal to allow her husband to take a second wife.
The public prosecutor ordered that the woman’s body be taken to the morgue at the Mohammed V Regional Hospital in El Jadida for an autopsy. The husband is currently in gendarme custody and is being investigated before being presented to the public prosecutor for further legal action.
