Morocco's Economic Center Releases Special Report on France-Morocco Partnership
Monday 6 January 2025 - 16:11

The Moroccan Economic Center (CMC) has announced the release of its latest monthly publication, ” Maroc Conjoncture ” (Morocco Business) no. 374, a special issue focused on “France-Morocco Partnership: Achievements and Prospects for Improvement.”

This new edition covers several key topics, including “Global Trade: The Impact of Geopolitical Tensions on Supply Chains,” “Morocco-France Partnership: Significant Development Potential,” “Green Industry and Energy Transition: Morocco at the Forefront of Sustainable Investments,” and “Major Reforms to Unlock the Potential of Private Investment,” according to a statement from the CMC.

The Center emphasizes that the profound transformation of the geostrategic context in the Mediterranean region, as well as in relevant economic areas in Europe and Africa, and more broadly across the globe, calls for enhanced cooperation between Morocco and France.

In this context, the report highlights the partnership between the two countries, which is expected to expand further by adapting to new demands in a rapidly changing economic, social, and environmental landscape.

The pathways to be pursued in this regard should focus on consolidating the achievements of the partnership in various areas of cooperation while exploring new development opportunities presented by ongoing geostrategic transformations, the CMC notes.

On another front, the Center sheds light on green industrialization and energy transition, which today are central pillars of sustainable development strategies.

In this respect, Morocco has been committed for over a decade to an economic transformation process aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and its commitments under the Paris Agreement, the statement recalls.

Regarding private investments, the Center highlights that Morocco has made significant progress in improving its business climate, particularly through the new Investment Charter and specific provisions in the 2024 and 2025 Finance Bills, nevertheless, the statement underscores challenges such as regional disparities that continue to hinder the growth of private investment and its considerable potential.
