Minister El Midaoui outlined plans to expand university scholarships and student housing in response to a question from the Istiqlal Party group at the House of Representatives.
He said the government will work with universities, local councils, and the private sector to secure additional funding for scholarships.
The goal is to achieve a 100% scholarship acceptance rate, with the “Unified Social Register” serving as a key criterion for selecting beneficiaries.
On student services, in response to the Haraki Party’s inquiry, El Midaoui highlighted significant improvements in housing, including the opening of new dormitories and the expansion of existing ones in Kenitra, Taza, and Nador, alongside ongoing projects in Mohammedia and Al Hoceima.
New dormitories are also planned for cities like Beni Mellal, Taroudant, Larache, Oujda, and Safi, with eight private university dormitory partnerships signed.
The minister also addressed the quality of dining services, confirming that all dormitories now have restaurants with quality control measures.
Additionally, 28 university health centers have been established to support students’ well-being.
These initiatives are part of the broader effort to improve the university experience for Moroccan students through enhanced access to education and essential services.
