Moroccan international Sofiane Boufal left Qatari club Al Rayyan by mutual consent, the Qatari Club announced on Monday.
“Al Rayyan Sports Club and player Sofiane Boufal have reached an agreement to terminate the contract between the two parties by mutual consent. Thank you Sofiane, we wish you success and prosperity in the future”, Al Rayyan said in a statement.
The 31-year-old midfielder joined the Qatari club in February 2023 from French club Angers, which he joined in October 2020 at the end of his contract with the English club Southampton.
Al Rayyan, eight times champion of Qatar, started the season on a high note beating Umm Salal in their first match of the top flight, but losses to Al Duhail and Al Gharafa derailed their progress sending them to eighth spot.
