Morocco’s Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch attended, on Friday at the Élysée Palace, the reception hosted by the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, and Brigitte Macron for Heads of State, government, and international organizations as part of the opening of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Akhannouch, who was accompanied by Morocco’s ambassador to Paris, Samira Sitail, represented His Majesty King Mohammed VI at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games.

The Head of Government had participated, on Thursday in Paris, in the summit for “Sport and Sustainable Development,” organized by the Presidency of the French Republic and the International Olympic Committee (IOC), with the support of the French Development Agency (AFD).

This summit brought together heads of state and government, leaders of international organizations, athletes, and representatives of the sports movement, as well as development finance stakeholders to take “exemplary initiatives in five key areas, namely education and employment, health and nutrition, equality and inclusion, financing and impact measurement, and sustainability and legacy.”
