Morocco, Algeria, Israel, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates and Türkiye are the main countries where suspects wanted by French justice seek refuge, according to a French police note reviewed by AFP.

The analysis, conducted by France’s National Fugitive Search Brigade (BNRF), examined 3,600 active Interpol Red Notices involving drug trafficking, organized crime, violence, and economic and financial offenses. Morocco ranked first, with 218 fugitives identified there, followed by Algeria with 124 and Israel with 87.

According to the analysis, 49% of the fugitives identified in Morocco are wanted for drug trafficking. The study excluded Schengen countries and suspects wanted for terrorism, and the French police stressed that its findings highlight broad trends rather than provide an exhaustive picture.
