The Policy Center for the New South (PCNS) and the World Bank (WB) are organizing a seminar, on June 28 in Rabat, to review and discuss the findings and policy recommendations of recent research on the Moroccan labor market.

The aim of the seminar, entitled “Employment and the functioning of the labor market in Morocco,” is to shed light on these issues in the light of the most recent research on the labor market, the PCNS and the WB said in a joint press release.

It is in this context that PCNS and the WB have been actively engaged, conducting in-depth research on various aspects of the labor market. This event will provide an opportunity to share and discuss the results and policy recommendations emerging from academic research, with a focus on the latest policy developments on these issues.

The day’s debates will begin with a review of the current state and future prospects of labor market governance. Speakers and participants will then revisit the growth-employment nexus, crucial to understanding labor market dynamics in Morocco and formulating effective public policies, before tackling the challenge of women’s economic empowerment.

Other workshops will explore the education-training-employment nexus, and conclude with a reflection on the labor market in an era of transitions, i.e. demographic, technological and sustainability challenges.
