Morocco has approved a €349.1 million loan from the World Bank’s International Bank for Reconstruction and Development under a program focused on climate and risk financing, according to the latest issue of the country’s Official Gazette.
Decree No. 2.26.639, dated Sept. 22, approves the loan agreement signed June 30 between Morocco and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
The agreement provides for a loan of €349.1 million under the “Climate and Risk Financing” program. Finance Minister Nadia Fettah Alaoui was tasked with implementing the decree.
The decree was adopted under Morocco’s 2026 Finance Law and follows provisions authorizing the government to conclude loan agreements with international financial institutions.
The latest borrowing adds to Morocco’s financing arrangements with the World Bank as the country continues to develop mechanisms aimed at managing climate-related and other financial risks.
