US Senator Lindsey Graham sparked controversy after suggesting that Israel should consider using nuclear weapons in Gaza, likening it to the US decision to drop atomic bombs on Japan during World War II.
“When we were faced with destruction as a nation after Pearl Harbour, fighting the Germans and the Japanese, we decided to end the war by bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki with nuclear weapons,” Graham argued, adding that it “was the right decision.”
Speaking to NBC, the senator further urged giving Israel the necessary support to “end the war they can’t afford to lose.”
“Why is it okay for America to drop two nuclear bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki to end their existential threat war? Why was it okay for us to do that? I thought it was okay,” Graham continued.
