In a harrowing mid-air incident, thirteen passengers aboard LATAM Flight LA800 were hospitalized following severe turbulence. The flight, which originated from Sydney and was en route to Chile via Auckland, encountered unexpected technical difficulties that led to the turbulence.

According to LATAM, the Chilean airline, the aircraft experienced a significant disturbance during the flight. Despite the mid-air scare, the plane managed to land safely at Auckland Airport as scheduled.

Emergency services were alerted to the situation at approximately 4:00 PM local time, with five ambulances dispatched to the scene. Gerard Campbell, a representative from St John Ambulance of New Zealand, reported that their teams assessed around fifty passengers. One individual was identified to be in a critical condition, necessitating immediate medical attention.

The incident has raised concerns over flight safety and the well-being of passengers during long-haul flights. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the technical issue that resulted in this alarming event.
