Morocco’s airports handled 18.83 million passengers during the first six months of 2026, an increase of 8.8% from the same period a year earlier, driven by sustained growth in international travel, the National Airports Office (ONDA) said.
International traffic rose 8.9% to 16.84 million passengers, while domestic traffic increased 8.6% to nearly 2 million passengers, according to ONDA’s commercial air traffic statistics for June.
Casablanca Mohammed V Airport remained the country’s busiest hub, serving 5.76 million passengers, up 10.1% year-on-year. It was followed by Marrakech Menara with 5.64 million passengers, Agadir Al Massira with 1.88 million, Tangier Ibn Battouta with 1.40 million and Rabat-Salé with 1.22 million.
European routes continued to underpin Morocco’s air traffic growth, accounting for more than 14 million passengers, a 9% increase from a year earlier. Traffic to and from South America recorded the fastest growth, rising 34.3% to 53,807 passengers.
Passenger traffic with African destinations climbed 15.2% to 971,193, while North American routes expanded 15.5% to 461,695 passengers. Travel between Morocco and other Maghreb countries increased 11% to 244,069 passengers.
In contrast, passenger traffic with the Middle East and Asia declined 5.7% to 1.04 million passengers.
Aircraft movements across Morocco’s airports rose 9.7% year-on-year to 138,353 during the first half of 2026. Casablanca Mohammed V recorded 45,824 aircraft movements, ahead of Marrakech Menara with 36,795 and Agadir Al Massira with 12,962.
Air cargo also continued to expand, with freight volumes increasing 12.3% to 57,828 tonnes during the first six months of the year.
In June alone, Moroccan airports welcomed 3.12 million passengers, up 5.8% from the same month in 2025, reflecting continued growth in air travel ahead of the peak summer season.
