Moroccan strawberries are free of the Hepatitis A virus and Novo virus, according to the National Office for the Safety of Food Products (ONSA).
Laboratory test results confirmed the strawberries’ safety and alignment with safety and health regulations for agricultural products.
According to Hespress information, ONSA took several samples of irrigation water and strawberries at the unit and field level to assess their quality and identify any potential health risks.
“Hepatitis A and Novovirus tests were negative, and no contamination of irrigation water was detected. In addition, field users are strictly monitored to ensure health safety,” announced the authority today.
The batch of strawberries in question was destined for export and not for the domestic market.
ONSA’s annual monitoring and surveillance program on the national market includes hundreds of samples of red fruits, all of which are safe and comply with health safety standards.
Following the developments of the Spanish health notice on a batch of strawberries exported from Morocco, the National Office for Health Safety of Food Products quickly opened an investigation and conducted the necessary investigations that enabled the identification of the field and the packing unit concerned, as well as tracking the shipment of exported strawberries.
