The Moroccan Agency for Medicines and Health Products has issued a directive to recall a batch of the diagnostic drug VISIPAQUE 320 MG I/ML, a 100 ml solution containing the active ingredient Lodixanolum used for various imaging procedures.

According to the agency, batch number 17271300 is being withdrawn due to a non-compliance issue linked to contamination of the packaging vials, discovered after the product reached the market.

The agency urged healthcare providers, including hospital pharmacists, retail pharmacists, wholesalers, and public health facilities, to immediately stop dispensing or using the affected batch and to isolate any remaining stock. Coordination for the return of the product will be managed with the pharmaceutical company CycloPharma.

The Moroccan health authority emphasized that the recall is part of its mandate to ensure the safety and quality of medicines and health products available in the country.
