Amazigh jewelry from various regions of Morocco, belonging to King Mohammed VI’s private collection, is being showcased at the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha, Qatar.
The exhibition marks the opening of the new cultural year in the Gulf state and is organized in partnership with Morocco.
In addition to the Moroccan urban creations regularly featured in the museum’s permanent exhibitions on the history of Islamic art, this new exhibition offers a glimpse into a special aspect of Moroccan culture: the jewelry worn by women from different Amazigh regions of the kingdom.
The exhibition provides insights into these pieces and their uses through texts in both Arabic and English, as well as recorded documentary clips.
