Real Madrid star footballer Vinicius Junior, upon arriving to Marrakesh this week for a a short vacation, visited one of the preparatory high schools in the Gueliz district in Marrakesh and spent time with its students, as he was appointed by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as a goodwill ambassador for the UNESCO “Education for All” initiative.
Regarding this visit, Moulay Ahmed Lakrimi, Regional Director of the Academy of the Ministry of National Education in the Marrakesh-Safi region, said: “This charitable initiative was carried out within the framework of the coordination of the Moroccan branch of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Collective Council of the City of Marrakesh in order to support education.” For everyone, this player chose to communicate with the students, so his visit to the Honors Preparatory High School was programmed.”

“Player Vinicius Jr. was warmly received by the students of the preparatory institution, which left the visitor with joy and happiness. Then the students began asking him their questions about his childhood and the secret of his success,” noting that “the Real Madrid player stressed during his answers the necessity of creating a balance between education and sports, and when he learned about the Moroccan experience in this regard, he was even more pleased,” added the education official.

Moulay Ahmed Lakrimi reported that on the occasion of this visit, a small football match for the students and Vinicius Jr. was held, which pleased the children since the Brazilian player is very popular in Morocco.

Later in the day, Vinicius Jr shared photos on his Instagram, where he was quaking in the city’s neighboring desert in a Moroccan football jersey.
Weeks ago, Spanish Real Madrid player Ibrahim Diaz was also in Marrakech on vacation, and visited Jemaa El Fna Square and surrounding markets.
French national team and PSG player Kylian Mbappé, retired tennis star Maria Sharapova, former president of Croatia, international fashion designer Valentino, and other celebrities from various fields also flocked to Marrakesh for vacation this year.
These visits by stars and international football celebrities have turned into an effective means of promoting the Red City as a first-class tourist destination.
