Following the Moroccan National Football team’s 6-0 defeat against Germany today, Reynald Pedros, the French coach of the Moroccan women’s national team, addressed the team’s performance, acknowledging the tough loss.
Following the match, he expressed his thoughts during a press conference, admitting that there was little margin for error in such high-stakes competition.
Pedros praised his team’s efforts during the first half, where they managed to create opportunities and hold their ground against the German side.
However, he acknowledged that the third goal, early in the second half, dealt a significant blow to their hopes of turning the game around.
“We knew the opponent was strong, and we lacked ferocity and focus on set pieces. Now, all we have to do is prepare for the second match against South Korea; We have to see what didn’t work in the first game and get back to work,” he explained.
Pedros stressed the importance of learning from the mistakes made in the first game and getting back to work.
As the team prepares for the next challenge, the coach remains determined to address any shortcomings and improve the team’s performance on the field.
Amidst the tough competition that awaits the Moroccan women’s national team, Pedros underscored the significance of providing reassurance to the players.
He acknowledged that the opening match against Germany had been incredibly demanding, exposing the squad to a high level of competition.
However, he urged the team to regroup and strive to project an honorable image throughout the remainder of the tournament.
