The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) announced that the Moroccan national team will play a friendly match against the Cape Verde national team on June 12, at the Prince Moulay Abdallah Stadium in Rabat.
The FRMF indicated in a statement that the friendly confrontation is part of the national team’s preparations for the match that will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023 in the South African national team in Johannesburg, for Group 11 of the African qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations finals that will be held in Côte d’Ivoire next year.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) appointed Chadian referee Haji Alao Mahamat to lead the match that will bring together the national team and its South African counterpart in Johannesburg, starting at 6:00 pm local time (5:00 pm Moroccan time).
Walid Regragui, Morocco’s head coach, had insisted on holding one friendly match against an African team in Morocco, before traveling to Johannesburg, to face South Africa for the African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
