The Royal Family and the entire Moroccan people celebrate, on Monday, in joy, the 20th birthday of Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, a happy event translating, as usual, the real dimension of the unfailing and irreversible attachment of the Moroccan people to the Glorious Alaouite Throne, guarantor of the unity and stability of the Kingdom.
This anniversary recalls the joyous moments of Thursday, May 8, 2003, when the Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery announced the blessed birth, at the Royal Palace in Rabat, of a boy whom King Mohammed VI was kind enough to baptize with the first name of Moulay El Hassan, in homage to the memory of his grandfather, the late Hassan II, peace be upon him.
The celebration of the 20th anniversary of Moulay El Hassan renews the unchanging attachment of Moroccans to the Glorious Alaouite Throne through the oath of allegiance uniting them to Amir Al-Mouminine, defender of the faith and guarantor of the supreme interests of the Nation and its citizens.
This happy event is also an opportunity to remember some of the main activities of the Crown Prince who had obtained, in July 2020, the baccalaureate “international option”, “Economic and Social Sciences” with the mention “Very good”.
On September 18, 2022, Moulay El Hassan presided over the final of the first edition of the Polo Throne Cup at the Souissi Polo Club of the Royal Guard in Rabat.
On October 17 of the same year, he had presided over the opening ceremony of the 13th edition of the El Jadida Horse Show, held from October 18 to 23 under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI.
One month later, Moulay El Hassan had inaugurated, at the headquarters of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) in Rabat, the International Exhibition and Museum of the Annabaouia Sira (life of the Prophet) and Islamic civilization, placed under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI.
On March 28, 2023, the funeral of the former president of the House of Representatives and former first secretary of the Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP), the late Abdelouahed Radi, took place at the Achouhada cemetery in Rabat, in the presence of Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and Prince Moulay Rachid.
Moulay El Hassan also accompanies the King on his various official activities. Over the past twelve months, he has been present at the Sovereign’s side, notably during the audience granted to Abdellatif Jouahri, Wali of Bank Al-Maghrib, who presented the Sovereign with the Central Bank’s annual report on the economic, monetary and financial situation for the year 2021.
The Crown Prince also accompanied the King on the occasion of the commemoration of Eid Al-Mawlid Al-Nabawi Acharif, the opening of the 1st session of the 2nd legislative year of the 11th legislature (October 14, 2022), and the audience granted by the Sovereign to the members of the National Football Team, after their brilliant performance at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Moulay El Hassan was also present at the King’s side on the occasion of several Councils of Ministers and the launch of the national operation “Ramadan 1444”, initiated by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity on the occasion of the month of Ramadan, as well as during the religious talks that the Sovereign presided over on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, the religious vigil in commemoration of Laylat Al-Qadr and the Eid Al-Fitr prayer.
Each of Moulay El Hassan’s public appearances perpetuates a long tradition that aims to initiate and familiarize the Crown Prince with the responsibilities he will be called upon to assume within a society that remains attached to its values and its plural identity.
