Morocco is expected to adopt the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) on March 19, as the holy month of Ramadan inches closer.
The Kingdom’s Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform says that the change is necessary to “adapt to the specificities of this blessed month, and the appropriate atmosphere it requires to practice religious rites.”
Morocco would return to the standard GMT+1 timing after Ramadan is over, on April 23.
