The Royal Moroccan Football Federation issued a statement denouncing rumors surrounding Moroccan football international Zakaria Aboukhlal, during his participation in the 2022 World Cup with Morocco.

“Following the publication of an article attacking the person and behavior of the Moroccan international during his participation with the national World Cup selection, the FRMF categorically denies the false accusations made in the article,” read the statement.

“The player demonstrated perfect behavior alongside his teammates, in order to achieve honorable results for the national selection in this international sporting event.”

“While the Royal Moroccan Football Federation expresses its strong condemnation of this website’s abuse of the player, and indirect slander of the image of the national team, it also confirms that it will resort to legal procedures to protect the members of the national football team and refute all false allegations on their conduct or their personal lives.”

The federation has therefore reacted to a recent article accusing the player of deliberately trying to influence people around img him into adhering to his religious beliefs.

The article claimed that the player successfully indoctrinated his teammates into his lifestyle and religious affiliation, slandering the athlete, and claiming he is propagating “extremist views.”
