Victims and right-holders have benefited from financial compensation and social integration as part of the National Human Rights Council (CNDH)’s continued implementation of the recommendations of the Equity and Reconciliation Commission (IER).
This operation was conducted on Wednesday, on the sidelines of a meeting of the president of the Council, Amina Bouayach, with a group of victims and right-holders, who have obtained arbitration decisions in their favor, after submitting the necessary documents, said a statement by the CNDH.
The number of beneficiaries of financial compensation and social integration stands at 246 people, for a total amount of 21,886,272.00 dirhams.
During an exchange with the persons concerned, Bouayach said that the financial compensation and social integration benefiting these victims or their right-holders are not new recommendations, the monitoring committee of the implementation of the recommendations of the IER can in no way issue new ones, but it is rather a new step on the path of monitoring the implementation of the recommendations of the Commission.
The granting, Wednesday, of financial compensation and social integration is the culmination of a process conducted throughout this year and during which the Council proceeded to listening and consultation with those concerned.
In addition, the CNDH proceeded, in May 2022, to the delivery of social integration allowances to 98 beneficiaries for a total amount of 3.597.222,00 dirhams.
The Council also continued the distribution of medical coverage cards, bringing the number of beneficiaries to 19,929, for a cost of MAD 216,138,771.00, mobilized under the general budget of the State.
