American rapper Kanye West sparked backlash after appearing at a surprise fashion show at Paris Fashion Week donning a T-shirt that says “White Lives Matter.”
“Everyone here knows that I am the leader … you can’t manage me. This is an unmanageable situation,” West said before the Yeezy Season 9 show began.
“White Lives Matter” is considered as a hate statement, for its reframing of the Black Lives Matter phrase used to protest against brutality in the US.
