After several strikes in front of the Ministry’s headquarters, Minister of Higher Education Abdellatif Miraoui met with Moroccan students who have returned from Ukraine.
The Higher Education Minister has previously agreed with officials at the Ukrainian Embassy in Rabat to provide training for students who will continue their studies remotely at their Ukrainian universities, according to a Hespress source who attended the meeting.
The Ministry committed to providing training to those students, and embassy officials, including a representative from the Ukrainian Ministry of Higher Education, confirmed that training will be recognized by Ukrainian universities.
“Applicants who will pass the training will obtain approval from the deans of Moroccan medical universities,” added the same source.
An agreement was also reached regarding student training and coordination between Moroccan and Ukrainian universities, further stated the same source.
Additionally, Ukrainian officials stated that they intend to reconsider some provisions of the law governing the Krok exam, which is the Ukrainian medical examination.
Among the conditions associated with this exam is the requirement to pass it in Ukraine, a condition for which the Moroccan and Ukrainian parties pledged to find a solution so that it could be taken in Morocco under the supervision of the Moroccan Ministry of Higher Education and its Ukrainian counterpart.
The Minister also stated that Morocco will recognize those students’ diplomas without the need for equivalence.
It was also confirmed that an agreement had been reached between the Ministry and private universities to benefit those students with a 20% fee reduction, according to the same source.
