Moroccan Head of government Fatima Zahra Mansouri arrived in Moscow on Wednesday to represent King Mohammed VI at the third Russia-Africa Summit, which opened in the Russian capital.
The Moroccan delegation also includes Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and Morocco’s ambassador to Russia, Lotfi Bouchaara.
Held under the theme “For Peace, Security and Development,” the summit brings together representatives of African countries for discussions on expanding cooperation with Russia.
The gathering, accompanied by the Russia-Africa Economic Forum, focuses on trade, investment, energy, agriculture and technology, as Moscow seeks to deepen its economic and diplomatic relations with African partners.
The meeting follows two previous Russia-Africa summits, held in Sochi in 2019 and St. Petersburg in 2023.
Mansouri’s attendance marks Morocco’s participation at the head-of-government level in the latest round of talks, with the summit providing an opportunity for bilateral meetings and discussions on cooperation between Russia and African countries.
