The UAE’s Federal Supreme Council has elected Crown Prince Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan as the President of the UAE, the Emirates News Agency WAM reported on Saturday.

A statement issued by the Ministry of Presidential Affairs stated that according to Article 51 of the constitution, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was unanimously elected as President of the UAE to succeed Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
