RAM and Emirates airlines sign code-sharing partnership

Morocco’s flag carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM) and Emirates airlines signed a code-share partnership on Tuesday in Dubai, reports MAP.

This move will enable travelers to benefit from more opportunities and choice of flight connections of both airlines between Dubai and Casablanca, as well as to other destinations.

Additionally, both carriers will offer customers codeshare flights operated between Dubai and Casablanca by the end of May, noting that a total of 209 destinations will be included.

This partnership aims to offer customers a wider choice of destinations between both carriers.

The agreement will also provide travelers with reasonable prices, smooth connections, and easy baggage transfer to their final destination.

The new codeshare flights will be marketed through both airlines’ websites (royalairmaroc.com and emirates.com) and their sales offices, in addition to travel agencies and online sales platforms.

Emirates customers will therefore have access to 17 Moroccan destinations, other than Casablanca, as well as 63 international destinations, including an extensive network in North Africa, West Africa, and Central Africa covering 25 major cities.

RAM customers will also have access to Emirates’ extensive network, including over 130 destinations, among them 60 cities in the Middle East, the US, West Asia, and the Far East.

This new share-code agreement coincides with Emirates’ 20 years of service to Casablanca, which since 2002 has carried over 3.4 million passengers between Dubai and Casablanca, supporting Morocco’s tourism industry.

Currently, Emirates airlines operate 8 weekly flights to Casablanca.

RAM launched recently new routes, including Tel Aviv and Dubai, as the airline intends to cover almost 90% of its pre-covid activity, noting that it will soon launch a direct route linking Casablanca to Dubai with 4 weekly flights.
