Netflix cancels Meghan Markle animated series
Tuesday 3 May 2022 - 14:40

Netflix has canceled Meghan Markle’s expected animated series, “Pearl,” as the streaming platform continues losing viewers and subscribers.

“Pearl” was expected to be the first animated series by Archewell Productions, Merkel and Prince Harry’s production company, as part of the couple’s contract with the streaming service.

The cancelation comes after Netflix revealed a sharp fall in subscribers and warned millions more are set to quit the service.

The series was expected to focus on the adventures of a 12-year-old girl, who is inspired by influential women from history.

“Like many girls her age, our heroine Pearl is on a journey of self-discovery as she tries to overcome life’s daily challenges,” Markle previously announced.

In April, Netflix said its total number of subscribers had dropped by 200,000 in the first three months of this year.
