Football star Christiano Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez announced on Monday that their newborn baby boy passed away.
The striker at Manchester United said in a joint Instagram post with his partner that it is the greatest pain that any parent can feel.
“Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness,” they said.
“We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support,” they wrote, adding, “we are all devasted at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time”
“Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you,” they concluded on their Instagram post.
The Portuguese couple had announced previously that they were expecting twins, a boy, and a girl.
