A boat collided earlier Friday, with a ferry belonging to a shipping company, according to Tangier Med Port Authority.
“Today at 2:49 a.m, a boat belonging to the company Svitzer operating in the Tangier Med port collided with the ferry Kattegat of the shipping company FRS Iberia, 1 kilometer away from the port Tangier Med, “said the Harbour Master’s Office in a statement.
“Following the incident, the boat has capsized and then sank,” he added, according to the same source, relied by MAP.
Two crew members are missing, notes the same source, adding that immediately after the incident.
Rescuers, the Royal Navy, and a helicopter were deployed to the scene of the incident.
Investigations are underway to locate the two crew members, the statement concluded.
