Rabat celebrated today as Capital of Culture of the Islamic World 2022

Rabat Capital of Culture in the Islamic World 2022 celebrations are officially launched, Today, March 24, under the supervision of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and the Ministry of Youth.

The event is held under the patronage of King Mohammed VI. The ceremony will take place at the Mohammed V Theatre in Rabat, aiming to put forth Morocco’s cultural and artistic heritage.

Salem bin Muhammad Al-Malik, Director General of ISESCO, will hand the ceremonial flag to Muhammad Al-Mahdi Bensaid, Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, to mark the launch of the ceremony. The programs to be announced during the festive event continue throughout the year, comprising several
activities.

Within the framework of ISESCO’s program for the capitals of culture in the Islamic world, Rabat is chosen as the capital of culture for its cosmopolitan aspects.

Rabat has a rich cultural heritage of the ancient city, and it encompasses various international cultural and artistic institutions. Due to its Arab, Islamic, African and Mediterranean environment, the city attracts tourists worldwide to witness remarkable artistic and cultural fusions.
